Frankamp WAS a point guard in high school, and played PG for the USA U17 team that also had Tyus Jones on it.
I think what he meant is that Conner has been a scoring PG, not a distribution guy. Which is totally true. He played on the USA U17 team with Tyus Jones, Jabari Parker, Jahlil Okafor, Stanley Johnson, Dakari Johnson, and Justise Winslow... and led the team in scoring.
But Tyus Jones had 43 assists and Conner had 19.
Based on Self's comments this morning on 610, he feels that both Mason and Frankamp contribute the most with the ball in their hands. It would appear he wants his PG to distribute the ball more, so my dream of Frankamp running point might take a big hit.
All signs point (no pun intended) to Davonte Graham committing and being given a fair shot at winning the starting job this year, with Mason and Frankamp coming off the bench to spell Selden and Graham.
I figure Greene and Oubre will battle it out for that third perimeter spot.
