My Mom was a responder to the Hyatt Skywalk collapse.....she held the hands of many who were gravely injured and at times I believe that was a contributor to her mental state for many years after. One of her good friends was killed there....
We may have had many rough moments while she was struggling emotionally, but she was MY Mom....she passed away from the combined effects of many strokes, diabetes and dementia and it was tough to see her slowly slide away.

My mom worked at Trinity Lutheran Hospital, she was the nursing supervisor of the operating room. She got called in when the Hiatt collapse happened, and we didn't see her for two days. The hospital was at 31st and Main, about a half mile from the Hiatt. They got a lot of the first ambulances there. She seldom talks about it, it was a horrendous 48 hours.
