I'll usually offer to walk someone home if I can or buy them a cab if they refuse to pay for one themselves, since I'm not usually comfortable driving unless I know for certain that I'm sober.

I've been through all the stages anyone goes through when something like that happens. Initially I blamed myself, then I was angry at the person who bought them the alcohol, and then I was angry at her for driving drunk. It was definitely the darkest period of my life and still affects me to this day and that happened 24 years ago.
I drink almost every weekend either with friends or just me and the wife sitting on the deck enjoying each other's company, but I never drive anywhere if I've been drinking. I guess it's not fair to hold others to such rigid standards, but it's impossible for me to shut off my feelings when it comes to this subject.
