Background: I'm having surgery on my nose later today and then leaving for a week and a half beginning next Wednesday.
I "liked" a picture on a girl's profile so that I could tag her for when I get back (since the site keeps a record of that sort of stuff), but she saw that I liked her and winked at me in return. I like this girl's profile enough that I'd like to meet her some time, but the timing is wrong. Unfortunately, the line of communication is already open. Even if I'm in good condition by early next week, I'm not sure that I would want to go on a first date and then immediately be gone for so long.
What's the correct etiquette here? Do I tell her that I'd like to meet her, but can't do so for over two weeks? That seems like a bit too far ahead to plan what is essentially a blind date.
Either way, lesson learned: in the future, write her username down on a notepad or something rather than doing something she can see.
