confidence is a huge part too (as others have already mentioned).

I also think there's a fine line between acting like you don't like a chick, and acting very confident. There is a large percentage of women, IMO, who like the fact that a guy doesn't turn into a blubbering idiot around them. Those gals seem to be interested in a guy who can talk to them etc, and if it doesn't go off very well, the guy doesn't walk away with his tail between his legs. Sometimes that can even peak her interest a bit more.

"Confidence" is tricky. You either look confident, or look like an arrogant douche. hard to balance that IMO
