I think they benefit from calls against the other team for exactly the same reason. Maybe we get the same treatment had we somehow brought him in (as impossible as that was realistically speaking...). Right now we're a crappy franchise that's played crappy ball for most of the last 15 years, and I don't think we either get or have earned a lot of respect or leeway from either the league or the officials. Maybe if we continue to win, if we start to build a reputation on either side of the ball, calls start to go our way. Or maybe not. I do think there's something to what you're saying, we still seem to have some issues with basic technique (like jamming receivers legally).
