Todd Haley misused him, but then he put him full time at the slot receiver position. I would bet that the majority of Dex's growth as a player came during that time. Now Whiz is stupidly putting him back in as a gadget, thinking he's his new version of Randle El.
We'll see if Whiz gets it. But he has plenty of tape to show him how dumb an idea it was in the first place.

Haley was just trying to get something out of him. I don't think Haley was ever really sold on McCluster as anything other than someone who might be able to beat single coverage from a LB.
