Its not "part of the internet" but still considered a vulnerability.
Personally, I don't buy for a second that this was North Korea behind the attack. I think they saw an opportunity to make the world think they were capable of something, and they took it. I also don't buy for one second that the US gov launched a counter attack. I believe this is the work of anonymous. They also threatened Sony if they didn't reverse course and release the movie, so that would explain why Sony is talking about releasing it.
