And you continue to cut Chase Daniel.

I think it's possible, you are probably right though. Gaines was arrested at rice for drug posession charge, and ended up on probation(with the law), and served a 1 game suspension.
Dorsey after drafting him ""Any time you are a two-time captain to me that says volumes," Dorsey said. "When you've owned up to your past indiscretions as a young man then you've earned the respect back from everyone in that institution, I'm OK with that."
DGB, while he was arrested for both things you mention, was never charged, or convicted of either. I believe he still got into some trouble involving some weed though. But he's managed to stay out of trouble for a year, and the OU coaching staff all have good things to say about him. If he says the right things, and comes across as genuine, i could see dorsey looking past his troubles.
Obviously though Gaines was a 3rd rounder, with a less troubled past, and he had actually been playing football.
DGB would be a much larger investment in the first round, and comes with a more troubled past. But DGB is undeniably a generational type talent. That could appeal to him. But heck, if he's still on the board when we pick, i guess we'll find out.
