I also have literally THE worst luck when it comes to random loot. Which tends to kill my motivation to run things that end with chests or boss drops. I'd have to run a raid 20 times to get anything worthwhile out of it. Which is more frustrating to me than not having the gear from not running it at all. There's only so many times I can finish something for nothing while hearing everyone else celebrate before I say **** it.
Just as a Destiny example, I haven't gotten an exotic from a nightfall since November. Over 10 in a row now. I just run them for the xp bonus.
Recently I'm running below 50% for getting any item reward from faction turn ins. And when I do get an item, it's always been a scout rifle (another nitc - have 3), a missile launcher (valedictorian - have 3) or a titan chest (have 3).
It's wacky and it's been that way in every game I've ever played, like a running joke.
