Oddly, the NFL has even come out and specifically SAID they checked the balls PSI at halftime and corrected them....but they havent said what they did pre-game exactly yet (to my knowledge)...
Basically I am speculating as to a possibility....which could make sense....if for some reason they just cleared the balls visually / by feel before the game...and then got some complaints during the game so they checked all the balls and inflated them?
I have no clue...
I mean and on the flip side, even if the refs did clear the balls....maybe they were in on 'the fix' so who knows...its not like it would end the controversy if it was deemed to be a ref ****up.

No...I'm not saying I know either. I just think it's fishy to think that before the game that the officials didn't check them with a gauge.....only did the hand test. But then during the first half....they noticed that the balls were deflated....by doing the hand test.
