It is a fair question. To Goodell's credit, his response was fair too. There is undoubtedly a conflict of interest that doesn't make these investigations "independent." The Ray Rice situation, in particular, had an enormous conflict of interest.

But he's not getting grilled for his answer. He's getting grilled for his condescending tone which continues to point to Goodell's unbelievable level of arrogance.
