PB interestingly enough fails to mention that the parity in NCAA Basketball today is on a whole different level than the Larry Brown KU era or the Roy Williams KU era
...and it's not even close
this is the Michael Jordan era of the NCAA ... you have an ocean of talent these days all stemming from MJ being every kids hero (and then Kobe, and now LeBron) that gets spread out over so many more schools
Making a Final Four in 2015 is 1000% harder than making a Final Four in 1980.
Hell, the Larry Brown era of March Madness was basically what Women's March Madness is today. It was top heavy. The top teams made the Final Fours every year.
Now? The NCAA isn't top heavy anymore. There are a few juggernauts, but on any given day they could lose to a UNI or a WSU etc...
That really wasn't the case back in the Larry Brown day.
