I know that.. and people like to run w/ the bulls too. It's ****ing stupid, but people do it.
Call me crazy, but I wouldn't surf in areas that are known for lots of shark activity. This isn't the coast of the US where there are just a few/handful or so shark sightings in shallower swimming areas throughout a season.
This is South Africa. Seal Island is in this region, and it's a shark feasting mecca. I understand shark attacks are not so much sharks "wanting" to feast on humans but more so the fact they investigate with their bite, and commonly mistaken a human on a surfboard for a seal or some other form of prey. I just would hate the be the guy who gets a foot or leg chomped off and then the shark just goes "oops my bad you're not a seal" and then swims off.
