Besides, it's a lot more efficient to make sure 2 catchers know the scouting reports than 12 pitchers.

I place some in it.
Some guys have such overpowering stuff that they can just do what they do and make the hitters adjust to them (Jose Fernandez is a great example of this, so is Syndergaard).
Once you lose some edge on that stuff, and your fastball isn't a plus-plus pitch any more, now you need to know where to locate it against guys to get same results.
