McCluster is a role player. They obviously planned to use him as a gadget guy. That team had tons of holes that needed to be filled. There are plenty of guys listed in that second round that could have been key starters, even still today. That's all he was saying, and I agree with him. They were going for dessert without perfecting the main course.
He was going to be a WR all the way. The Jamaal had to go and tear his ACL and he was forced to convert to RB. And he gave us really good production from that spot. And in the next 2 years after that, he gave us good production from the WR spot and great production as a punt returner.

500 yard receivers are valuable in the league. Thats what he was with us the last two years. We sure could have used one last year. 500 yards is more than what any WR gave us other than Bowe. YOu need to add up our next 3 best WR numbers in order to get 500+ yards. And you got that from DMC in 2013.
