No, we wouldn't. We'd be in the same place we were last year. 9-7 and clearly outmatched against elite teams like Denver. He is part of the problem because he's not part of the solution. You're not going to change Alex Smith. I'd rather get rid of both, but if I had my choice, without a doubt I know Andy Reid can build a more explosive offense without Smith because he's done out several times before.
It's becoming clear that with Alex Smith, yiu have to build an elite running game and elite defense to win games. Now he needs an ol too. And receivers. If your QB is that dependent on other teams success, he's not the QB to build around. I'm not one to overreact on qbs. I've given Smith plenty of rope, as I did with cassel. But sooner or later you have to realize he's causing a lot of problems his fans claim he's being victim to.
