You keep saying Fisher has next year to prove himself. There is no guarantee the Chiefs keep him. They can cut him and save $6M and use the savings to bring in another guy.
Fisher doesn't have leverage here. Fisher may only have two options. Option 1: get cut, find a team with a LT opening, and then beg for market value. Option 2: re-negotiate with the Chiefs to a contract that's above his market value but probably well less than $10M.
When did I say that has to happen now or that the Chiefs should low ball Fisher? It's in Fisher's best interest to play the year out. If Fisher isn't a $10M tackle or close to it before 2016, he would be galactically stupid to assume the Chiefs want to keep him around.
