Well, he obviously isn't likely to hit 60% for 3 on the season. But he is one of the most talented players we have seen in a long while. And what people don't see on TV is his micro-finesse game, the little things he does to freeze a defender and open up a passing lane. The guy is crazy talented.
He also just doesn't look very fast. It's just the way he runs. But he is so fast and strong and seems to have adjusted to the game so that he doesn't just bowl people over anymore. He has learned to use his size and strength and not just rely on them. Yes, he is BY FAR a better player this year. But it drove me insane listening to people who didn't recognize the talent.
I am so happy to see him healthy and stepping into a vocal leadership role. He and Graham are the vocal leaders of this team (I wonder if that's why I love Graham so much, too).
And, while I didn't want to think that not having Diallo hurt our Final Four chances, I will say that having him sure looks like it will help our NC chances. He and Bragg are just fantastic out there.
Thank you for your service, Jamari. I love any 4 year player at KU. But it's time for the Bragg/Diallo/Ellis/Mickelson rotation to take over.
