Not sure it's that simple, and it's definitely a huge risk to wait... but I'm not sure you can sign every single guy to a huge deal. Problem with having such a deep team. Moose and Hos are on the right side of 30 too. If you give those guys plus Cain and Gordon money that could be nearly four $100M contracts. You're talking 60-80 million in payroll to 4 guys. And no one on the internet has even mentioned Wade yet. If he pitches half as good as the last two years he's about to get the greatest reliever contract of all time.
Although personally, I think it just comes down to Gordon's age, but they won't say that.
