Not crazy about it as a long term scheme, but we will see. Think they'll have to continue to run a hybrid for at least a few more years while they recruit for the 34. DE depth looks pretty thin to me at that spot, and DT depth looks even thinner (at least for guys built to occupy those roles).
Other than Josh Augusta, I don't know that Mizzou currently has a DT who is someone I'd trust to anchor the middle against double teams every play, especially against SEC run games.
Also don't think those great, MizzouMade DEs (at this point, Harris and Brady) are really built to play a true 34 OLB. Harris looked awkward/inadequate in pass coverage vs. BYU.
Odom's staff is going to have to recruit differently/better to make it work.
