Her chapters slow down in ADWD no doubt, though I still liked the last few Dany chapters in that book. Really, once she decides to lock up her dragons, she becomes boring and annoying until her last few chapters when she flies off on Drogon and meets up with the Khalasar.

I did enjoy her part of the story when she was dealing with her brother and acting as the queen of the horse people. That was pretty cool. And of course the dragons. I have only gone through the first book but it feels to me like the dragons represent magic coming back into the land and taking a firm hold on the entire series. So I am looking forward to that. I guess part of it is the actress that plays the role on the TV show. She's smoking hot but totally unbelievable in the role to me.
