Eno Sarris: He did two things to be great late last year: started throwing harder, and started throwing his curve more. The second part is sustainable, the first? I have a feeling he’ll never be as good as we’d hoped, but also that this year will be one of his best. Take that to the bank! (jeez)
Anthony: I know he’s never stayed healthy for a whole season, but any chance K. Zimmer breaks camp w/ the Royals? Or…is called up and makes 15-20 starts? What about S. Manaea for the same?
Eno Sarris: Zimmer more likely because of team situations, I think. The A’s have a lot of guys they’ll try while keeping Manaea’s arb clock stopped. The Royals will want a shot in that rotation’s arm, I think.

Not sure why Serris is drawing that conclusion after one great year, one bad (and not really that bad) half, and one really good half. Just a feeling on his part, but whatever.
With the depth KC has, I think Zimmer only makes the rotation if he's flat-out dominating.
Volquez
Ventura
Medlen
Young
Duffy
Gee
Minor
Kennedy
That's a lot of guys to climb over.
Re: Kennedy and disliking the move for KC, they've taken heat for: Santana, Vargas, and Volquez, with all bringing great to good returns and outperforming the expectations of other franchises. Hell, when KC resigned Guthrie some questioned it, but he gave them two very valuable seasons, one of which he performed great in August and September and helped KC make a WS run.
I think Kennedy will be the next to add to that list (and I think KC looks at this as a two-year deal, not a five)

It's a nice dream.
I have a feeling that Hosmer plays his way out of KC's price range in the next two years (if he does what he did last season but adds 10-15HR, which is what I feel coming, he's going to get a Votto-like deal).
They could potentially keep Moustakas and Cain to pair with Perez and Ventura, but I don't think a reliever (even one as dominant as Wade Davis) and a speed-dependent SS are the type of guys it makes sense to lock up, long-term.
