But other than that ... Primarily, you'd be looking at a bounce back for Gordon and fewer injuries/time missed. Moustakas and Cain, especially. But it's still a team that needs to add/improve in a few spots to be a legitimate contender in 2017.

Plus we've seen other teams do it (most recently the giants the year they beat us) and '17 was always projected to be "the year" anyway.
I still say injuries are the biggest issue this year, although I do think fatigue is also a part of it. They've played at least a month more games than anybody else the last two years, two months more than most of the league. That's a lot of baseball and a lot of missed recovery time. Which is the cost of winning, and in no way a bad trade-off for a championship.
