He's not "holding out" in order to renegotiate a contract; that time has passed.
And the "he wants to miss training camp" excuse is super shitty: The NFL doesn't have 3 A Day practices nor do they have Two A Day practices. It's ONE 2 hour and thirty minute practice, which is less than a game.
The only thing that his refusal to sign the tender has shown is that he's selfish. He's not helping his teammates, he's turning his back on them.

If he gets hurt significantly doing something he's not required to do, 10.8 million could be the max he's gonna get for the rest of his career.
I'm guessing we'd have seen the same thing from Houston last year had the stuff not gotten worked out.
