I get that they didn't have to pay his salary when he got sick, but they did it for the PR and some good will as much as they did it for him.

Some agent on twitter brought this up and I thought it was pretty interesting to thi k about.
He tells his players that being an nfl player isn't a career. It's a Jumpstart to your career. They have such a limited window of playing time and all.
It's just a completely different mentality of what we fans of teams think vs what the players think.
