My heart goes out to the family and friends and his fellow cops.
My brother was a cop for like 10 years. I think he was a good cop treated people fairly and even so gave the Mayors kid a ticket and or a ride in the back of the pd car for drunk driving back to the station. Well that didn't set well for the Mayor and do to rural county politics he just isn't a cop anymore.
The fear was always you never knew how a routine traffic stop could go someone could just shoot you and drive off and that be that. That's what cops have to deal with every day. I think they are brave people to put on the badge.
