I earn SOMETHING. It's not a lot, but you know...it's not the money that drives me to pursue art.
If I hated myself and didn't give a shit and was willing to give up and whore myself out, I could accept other gigs...
But money doesn't rule my life. I prefer to play my own songs. You may find that notion "quaint" or "absurd"...but I don't serve your master, Dane. What you think about me or my music or my life don't ****ing matter to me. I have to live with myself and the choices I make.
Maybe when I don't care anymore I'll start writing jingles for Kenny Rogers' Roasters or what the **** ever it is people do when they have failed at being a real musician with passion.
And you may not be a LW...but you've got the NJ going for you. In spades.
