As for the 2008 team, yeah a lot of Pro Bowlers on that team that did jack squat. I've lived in Nashville for the past 13 years and have watched TN go through multiple re-builds.
Fisher lived off one SB run and a fan base that was new to pro football and pro sports overall. He benefited from a fan base that didn't demand much from it's pro teams and seemed to be OK with mediocrity, which basically Jeff Fisher in a nutshell.

It's those middle ten years that have given him so much rope. He had six 10 win seasons in a ten year period, which is really good when you have the cap problems they had in the middle of that run. He's been completely mediocre in LA, but I argue his Tennessee record isn't bad. A lot of teams would kill for that kind of stretch. He's definitely not as good of a coach as Marty though.
