I have watched every game and no team is doing what you are saying here. A lot are playing zone or QB spy, as a result defenders are more able to keep their eyes on him
But the actual reason Smith's numbers are down is because he is throwing more by percentage which is what Reid wants to limit his hits and make good use of schwartz. Come playoffs, if we make it, Smith will be more aggressive if he needs to be running
