Our offense averaged 13.2 ppg before Smith and Reid got here. That was dead last that year. Pass yards we were also dead last with 2,713 yds for the whole year.
I know a lot of you guys hate Alex Smith because he isn't a good fantasy football QB but you have to give the guy a little credit for the turnaround we have had here.
He's not as bad as some of you make him out to be. If he was that bad he wouldn't even be in the NFL.. He's well respected throughout the league by other QBs and defenses. He plays it safe and doesn't make a lot of mistakes. It's not flashy but it works as far as wins a losses are concerned. He's proven that.
He's a good game manager. Nothing more, nothing less. That doesn't make him the problem with this team. Do I want an upgrade? Sure but I don't think he needs to be cut. Who you going to get? Cousins isn't going anywhere and there's no guarantee that a rookie will be any better.
There's nothing wrong with winning with defense. If that's what we have to do then so be it. Just win...
