This is something that is going make a difference for years to come for him. He won't ever be the same I don't think and if he takes a good hit again could be the end of him.
Once you have back surgery you are subject to have back surgery again later in you life. I've had it and thankful for it but I know if I'm not careful I could end up having it again and I don't want go through that pain ever again before hand.
Sucks to be him hope he recovers after the playoffs and Chiefs knock off the Patriots.
