Reid's Chiefs have NEVER been a power running team. I've always argued that when people complain that we don't run it enough in short yardage situations.
Ware got stood up several times yesterday.

He seems like he should be strong enough to run the ball in short yardage situations but whether it's leverage or fatigue, it's not been happening this year. Guys are hitting him and he's stopping dead. And it's not just when they're getting him at his legs, they're hitting him high and standing him up.

It's been really surprising. It doesn't happen on every play, but it happens a hell of a lot more often than it did last year and much more often than I'd expect for a guy built like Ware is. Maybe you're right - maybe it's just a push thing and he's not able to get that extra stride he needs to be the hammer instead of the nail, but he's not been terribly effective in his own right in short yardage situations.
