I might have said hello or congratulations and left the man alone.
Have you ever talked with a player or former player over dinner or a beer?
I have, and they talk about it the same way you might after a bad day at work.
That was one of the first things I noticed, they didn't say "I had practice today" it's "today at work xyz"
