I admit that the front 7 was battered with injuries and they ran into a Steelers run game that they could no longer hope to contain. I admit that the secondary did a hell of a job that night and the defense as a whole in the red zone. They gave up 18 points. On a bad night. To a really good offense.
And Alex Smith still couldn't put together just a few drives for the win. Against an average defense. Which Brady absolutely shat on the following week. I cannot justify Smith not scoring 19 points with KCs weapons against those zone defenses. It's not all his fault, but much was offensively. Run game improvement would be nice, but would take care of itself with a legitimate passing game threat.
