You want to praise Smith for the wins against SD and Denver without acknowledging that he waited until the 4th quarter to do ANYTHING. Those games didn't need to be that hard. He got a lead and played well early against ATL, but then curled up into a ball in the 2nd half and watched Eric Berry win the game. He was shit against Houston and Carolina, but luckily Berry and Peters were there to save the day against CAR.
The guy never put together more than 2 good quarters of football during a game in 2016. The defense was good enough to always keep us in striking distance, despite that fact.
