He was injured, the team elected to not do surgery so they could possibly get him back for the playoffs, then in February it's discovered that the knee ligament is unresponsive and they have to do surgery at that time.
Had the team taken the mulligan and got him surgery to be on the safe side in November of 2015, he would have been ready for Week 1 and in much better condition than he was at the tail end of the 2016 season.
In either case, he got paid, and the injury happened the way it did.
Who's the toughest, most resilient football player in the NFL? Doesn't matter, just pick a name. You give that player Houston's situation, and he's not going to come back any quicker or any more robust. Blame the team, blame the Chiefs medical staff, blame Dr. Andrews, but blaming Houston is ****ing idiotic.
