Yea well when you want to bring in the money factor you can make that argument, but I wasn't thinking that technical in this hypothetical scenario. What good would the extra money do me for this season when free agency is already over? I don't think the cap roll over would be worth potentially having less than mediocre play on a team that has the talent to win it all. This hypothetical just gets silly if you want to include money.
Also, the fact that you think Alex finishing with better #'s is laughable means your expectations are too high. Alex has a much better OL and has at least proven he can have a 20+ TD's, <10 INT's, and 60% comp% type of season and get his team to the playoffs (and consistently). You're in for a reality check with Semen, I guarantee it.
