Oh yeah and I had the animal versions, too, because we have two yellow Labs that shed heavily twice a year. Even at Costco, the Dyson's were $499 and they just didn't last. I took one of them in for repair several times and finally gave up.

I bought the first Windtunnel at Costco in 2010 for $99.99. I couldn't believe it! It was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Dyson for a fraction of the cost. I picked up another one so that we'd have one on each of the main living floors and they've lasted 7 years.
I finally replaced one of them last month, which was working fine but smelled like stinky dog after so many years of vacuuming up doggie fur, for $79.99 at Costco and it's way better than the original design.
