And with the three point line being a glorified free throw, especially from the corners, the answer in college is rarely to stop shooting threes but rather to find players that will make more of them.
And the spacing created by three point shooters opens up lanes allowing for drives to the net, free throw attempts and higher percentage shots.
Abandoning the three is pretty much universally a bad idea.
