at Smith having any trade value. Every GM in the league knows that KC can't afford to keep him. Better to take your chances on a bidding war (lol) after he's cut. If you lose out, it beats taking on his ridiculous 18m salary in 2018.

This is a guy that was on multiple 1 year contracts in SF. The only franchise stupid enough to trade away picks for Alex Smith already has him.
