There was a time when I thought the reason Smith hadn't been to the Super Bowl (as a starter) was because of 2 muffed punts. I had not seen many 49ers games, and didn't know any better. I came to realize later that it shouldn't have came down to 2 muffed punts, as many here tried to convey!
