What? What the **** are you talking about? Who's this everyone you're talking about? Maybe MOST fans wanted Bob gone but there was not a huge contingence of fans that thought FOR SURE that Sutton would be canned by Andy. In fact most probably figured he'd be back.
Totally different situation with Alex. 0% chance he's back. And honestly there was a 0% chance he'd be back the moment we traded up to get his replacement.
The money we'll save, the draft capital we'll get for him coming off an outlying career year statistically (His trade value will never be higher) and the fact that we have a young, extremely talented QB that we just traded up to get who's done nothing but impress and show the reasons why we traded up to get him to replace Alex are why there is NO WAY Alex is back. Add in the fact that Mahomes is on his rookie contract and there's no way we waste another season of that for Alex ****ing Smith.
Also, let's be real, Mahomes might throw a few more INTs because he'll throw into tight windows and down the field more, and he'll be a first year starter and that's what young QBs do...but he'll put up a statline close to Alex's career year that took him 13 years to reach in his first year starting because he's just way more talented and he has a great supporting cast around him.
Andy knows this. He's not dumb. He does not want Alex back. Mainly because he just drafted a kid who he knows is/will be better than Alex and soon.
