He does have some leverage, cause there’s a 99% chance he would have held out this year, and the next, and the next... hell, Peters is bold enough to sit out games. The dude gives no ****s about anything outside of Oakland to my eye.
Sure, they could have kept him for the 2-3 years, but it would have come with tons of distraction and drama.
