For as "dumb" of a move as many make this out to be...it sounds like the Chiefs were having trouble drumming up a trade partner in this.

According to IanRap., the 49ers and Browns were the only other teams who were mildly interested in him. The Rams were apparently the only ones will to go in on a trade at the end.
