I listened to Stan Weber, and he disagrees with you on the defense got worse. He grades the defense on a 1-10 basis on each play, and said Peters has way too many plays where he grades out on a 1-3 score. Way more plays there than the occasional turnover he creates offsets those plays.
He also said he doesn't think the Chiefs are done getting rid of defenders that were the leaders of this team.
