But why rush to trade him if you aren't getting value? It's one thing if we are selling high. We aren't. They are trading him on principal. We now have a bigger hole than we did before
Instead of using the Smith trade and cap room to fix the rest of the defense we are using it to replace Peters. If we don't get a guard in free agency because we sign a corner will people be thrilled?
Whoever replaces Peters will likely get paid more next year to be less effective. And getting money that could have gone somewhere else. There better have been a bunch behind the scenes we didn't know. Not this crap about the flag throw and national anthem (and that kneel pisses me off btw).
