Based on historical precedent and the draft value chart, Marcus Peters' trade compensation should be something along the lines of:
2018 3rd round pick #87
2018 5th round pick #160
2019 3rd round pick

Personally, I hope that is the floor...anything above and beyond, this ends up being a decent trade despite the fact that right now it feels like we are going to get fleeced.

1. From the sounds of it the Chiefs are not getting the Ram's first rounder this year. So probably a 3 and 5 in this draft.
2. Chiefs probably getting a 1 or 2 in next years draft.

This sort of deal makes a ton of sense from the Chiefs perspective as the team probably values having two #1 picks next season (lets say its ours at #13 and the Rams at #27) than getting their pick this year.

Gives the Chiefs four second and third round picks to add a ton of depth which this team really needs. Then in 2019 you can got out an traft a couple studs to build out the defense.

1. The timeline works better
2. Helps the Chiefs manage the cap longer - more players on rookie deals. Allows us to keep our young talent in place.
If that ends up the case, I can live with it...
