The buck always stops somewhere, and leopards don’t change their spots.
That body language Peters displayed in that interview? I’ve seen it before and know it well.
He is lying to himself and his ego does not know humility.
To Marcus’ credit, that is arguably the most composed I’ve maybe seen him in an interview. He kept it respectful, aside from the Mahomes dig, but no one should be that thin skinned about a little trash talk/throw down. It is obvious though that he was twisting the truth/facts about what played out after the Jets game.
Screaming at coaches, reported physical altercations with teammates, and a report he physically attacked his own mother. This shit usually doesn’t manifest on its’ own, and where there is smoke....
Over time, an unchecked ego gets tiring in a locker Room. Team morale suffers, coaches worry more about managing the player than the game, and toxicity ensues.
People here citing he is just “passionate” are blind. We have seen his outbursts in public, I can imagine what has been said and done in the locker room. I sensed regret in Peters talking about his teammates and Reid. He knows they likely gave him every chance to buy into the team concept, but he can’t get over himself. And now, one day he wakes up and realizes he has run out of chances. His politically correct response of “it’s a business” is an easy way out for both the Chiefs and Marcus Peters. We all know there is a much darker truth behind this turn of events.
KC lost a great talent, but maybe regained some organizational purpose and drive.
