Torrey Smith had just one 1,000 yard season in his career and was coming off two shit seasons as the #1 in SF in which he totaled 800 yards. He was already showing signs of a decline his last year in Baltimore when he had just 700+ yards (which for him is about his average, but Richardson had 700+ last year despite being a #2 in an offense that spreads the ball around and he “hasn’t done shit”)
I don’t have a hard-on for backup WR’s, I just think some of you are too easy to dismiss Richardson because it looks risky on paper.
Yea, Smith might’ve been a safer signing last year, but the upside with Richardson is worth the risk. The guy is an explosive deep threat with good hands.
